Good day
We had a good and fun day. We started with creating a class handshake. (Check out Twitter for video!) Then, we all learned our class handshake. Next, we worked to prepare information for our student led conferences next week. They are eager to share their progress with you! In Wonder, Jack punched Julian! We all agreed that this wasn't ok but the reasoning behind him doing it was about being a good friend to Auggie and now they have made up. In Reader's Workshop, we continued with non-fiction text features but also discussed what non-fiction text structures are (and we'll work more with these next week). We also read independently and blogged or visited the library. We got a compliment on how nice our line was walking quietly down the hallway, from a Kindergarten teacher so we got a potato head piece! Only one more for our party! After Art, Lunch and Recess, we used quiet time to read, draw or complete our weekly padlet. (padlet.com/heather_lambrig/Friday10_2) In Math Workshop, we continued working with rounding big numbers and practiced some place and value as well. Our first test is Tuesday! Finally, we ended our day with Wonder time where a couple kiddos decided to learn a little Spanish, some blogged or played ST Math, others worked on math review and some continued working on their conference information.
